• Mary and her husband John Thorne lived most of their lives in Flushing, Long Island.

• Mary and John Thorne  joined the Religious Society of Friends [See Records of the Society of Friends  - an article on Quakers in on Long Island].

• When John died in 1709. His will, dated July 23, 1709, named their son, William, as executor.  John's estate went to Mary and their children, however,  Mary's share would be altered if she remarried.
