Michael (1777-)     Born 9 Apr 1777. Christened 18 Jan 1778 in Dutch Church, Rhinebeck, NY.  pg 66 # 141 Sponsors were Hendrick Pelts/Pels and wife Johanna Sleght.  The church pastor at that time was Stephen van Voorhees. The name of the town: New Hackensack aka 
Rhinebeck Flatts.  The Church is also known as The Church of Christ at Rhinebeck Flatts.  Nothing further. Perhaps died young.

  • Robert Thorn, along with his father (Samuel) and brothers (except Thomas) were United Empire Loyalist and migrated to Nova Scotia in 1783 (became New Brunswick the following year) at the end of the American Revolutionary War (1776-1783).

 

  • He was loyal to the Crown, King George III. The Old UE List notes that he was from Dutchess County, New York.

 

  • A carpenter, by trade.

 

  • As a loyalist, Robert was awarded property at Washademoak, Queens County (near Gagetown parish), New Brunswick.

 

  • Robert Thorn’s death occurred between 14 Aug 1819 & 14 Sep 1819.
