Notes for Peggy ...

  • Seven years younger than her twin sisters, Betty and Molly, Peggy described herself as "an accident" which happened during a short reconciliation period between her mother and father.
  • She was named after her great-grandmother Margaret Campbell (who married Daniel Morrison).

  • Peggy didn't like all the moving she experienced as a young person "it was difficult to say good bye to friends so I got hesitant to make new ones".  But creating new friendships came natural to this attractive, outgoing and positive person.   She did, however, keep her promise not to move her own children around.  After her marriage to Les Bryan they lived for a short time with his mother; then moved to 1362 East 13th Avenue, Vancouver; then in 1957 to 8538 Gilley Avenue, Burnaby; where they lived until her death in 1988.

L-R: unknown, Peggy with sisters Betty and Molly and dad, Frank Morrison.

  • Peggy's courtship and wedding:

Peggy met Les Bryan at a dance in Vancouver.  Their courtship was mostly through letters.  Peggy lived and worked in Victoria.  Les lived and worked in Vancouver.   On her days off Peggy would either stay in Victoria and catch up on laundry etc., go to Salt Spring Island to visit  her mother and sisters, or, on occasion go to Vancouver to visit with Les and his mother (whom he lived with at the time).
